Iron Man 2

Thoughts on Iron Man 2 (in no particular order, and with no plan to make them into a coherent review):

  • Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, and Sam Rockwell are so talented. Such good actors. Don Cheadle as well.
  • More RDJ, please! He sparkles when he's on screen. Not literally like Edward Cullen, of course--but he has such charisma as Tony Stark.
  • However, not more depressed Tony Stark. He's more fun to watch when he's cracking one-liners. He's so pleasingly arrogant/narcissistic.
  • It was nice to see Scarlett Johanssen kicking butt. I like watching strong men who don't need women to save them. Sorry, Pepper Potts--you fall into that category just a little bit. Don't just stand there when the bomb beeps like it's about to explode! Maybe you shouldn't wear 4-inch stilettos? That may help...
  • Holy explosions, Batman! (Is it sacrilege to mix a DC character into a review of a Marvel movie?)
  • Previews: Inception looks awesome, as does Super 8. Darn these enigmatic directors who don't let anyone know what their movies are about, even in previews! Maybe The Last Airbender would look better to me if I had ever watched the Nickelodeon series? Prince of Persia--eh. I could take it or leave it.
